The Starboy has returned…and we love what we are hearing!

After releasing one of the most unique and game changing albums of the decade, Beauty Behind the Madness, The Weeknd is back with his latest sound. His latest album, titled Starboy was released on November 25th and incredibly all 18 songs on the album charted into the Billboard Hot 100 almost immediately, with Starboy reaching number 2.

It is no secret that The Weeknd breaks records left, right, and center. The internet is flooded with photos of the star who can barely hold all of his awards in one go. Last year alone he won eight Billboard Awards, five Juno Awards, multiple AMA’s, and a variety of other awards.

Discussing his new album, Starboy, The Weeknd pays lyrical homage as always to his roots in Toronto and his challenging upbringing, with his creation of “Starboy”. The song itself discusses The Weeknd’s quick rise to fame, which at times is often challenging and hard to handle. Coming from the city of Toronto, the singer has struggled with using drugs as a creative outlet and sings about how difficult the reality of handling fame can be. With iconic pop and R&B singers featured on the latest album, The Weeknd has drawn massive inspiration from a variety of legendary artists and bands from the 1980’s, including Prince and David Bowie. With Lana Del Ray, Kendrick Lamar, Future, and Daft Punk on the album, The Weeknd manages to push the envelope further as he presses deeper into unexplored musical territory. His style is remarkably his own with a mix of R&B, pop, electro-funk, hip-hop, and even trap sounds. These all sound like more reasons not to miss his upcoming world tour.

The Weeknd will kick off his Starboy: Legend of the Fall Tour across the pond in Northern and Western Europe, before spending some time performing across the United Kingdom. After touring festivals and concert halls in South America, he will return to his homeland of Canada before touring between the United States and Eastern Canada. With multiple shows in some cities across the United States, you won’t want to miss The Weeknd in a city near you. His concerts make you happy, sad, dance, cry, and love deeply and it’s with this jumble of emotion that he holds his audiences in complete awe.
