Queens of the Stone Age are back and are ready to release their latest album. After sharing many teasers via social media websites, the heavy rock band have left fans guessing when their seventh studio album will hit the shelves. It has been speculated that the seventh Queens of the Stone Age album will be released on April 25th or May 20th. Since the teasers are not very telling, this date could also be the release of a single from the album. These clues come after the band posted this photo to their Twitter account:
With six studio albums under their belt since 1998, Queens of the Stone Age haven’t released an album since 2013. Their last album, …Like Clockwork, was a star studded hit that received critical acclaim and reached number 1 on the Billboard 200 charts. Their hit song, “My God is the Sun”, took the world by storm and gained the heavy rock band their reputation back after they had a few shaky years between their last album, Era Vulgaris.
…Like Clockwork featured collaborations with many epic legends including Elton John, the Arctic Monkeys Alex Turner, and Dave Grohl, among many others. This album was one for the books for Queens of the Stone Age and it may be difficult to top this. Unless they take a different approach that is…
Although the band are being quite secretive about their new album so far, we do know that they will be playing a few shows in North America this summer. Queens of the Stone Age have yet to release the title of the new album. Speaking to reporters, Queens of the Stone Age mentioned that the latest album would not have any collaborations or guests starring on the album. This means that occasional band member and legendary rocker Dave Grohl will most likely not be jamming with the band on this one. Fans are suggesting that Queens of the Stone Age will return to their original roots, creating the type of music they dished up in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. I guess we will just have to wait and see…
