It has been four years since rock band Phoenix have released an album, however the band are back and set to release their latest record titled Ti Amo. Phoenix have described the album as coming from a darker place, one of which seems to place stress on the condition of their hometown of Paris, France and the hurdles and obstacles it has overcome in the last few years. These obstacles include the recent terror attacks on the city, the influx of immigrants and how the city has attempted to handle the population increase, and the changes in political standings. Ti Amo isn’t going to be all dark though. Bandmates say that the mid-tempo album is fun and recalls times like “summer and Italian discos”, which hints that the band may still have put their fun and charismatic energy into the album after all.
Phoenix rose to fame in 2009 when they released their hit album Wolfang Amadeus. The hit album included songs like Lisztomania and 1901. It took the band over two years to write the 10 track album, however their meticulousness and attention to detail and sound paid off. Phoenix managed to grab a Grammy award, a platinum single, a spot on Saturday Night Live, and perhaps most memorably, they played a blowout show in the iconic Madison Square Garden with their good friends Daft Punk.
Phoenix will head out on tour this year and will even headline a couple of festivals. Here are the tour dates to catch the band live:

After playing shows across North America, Phoenix will head across the pond to play at Glastonbury Festival in the UK before touring parts of Europe and Asia. Although we don’t yet know the track list for the upcoming album, Ti Amo, we do know that the album will be released on June 9th, 2017. This means they will hopefully play some of their new songs throughout their summer tour in Canada and the United States. We do know the names of a few songs from the album including J-Boy, Lovelife, and Role Model, since the band played some of their new jams at a festival in Belgium. It was three years since Phoenix played a live gig, however they are back and ready to take over the rock world once again.
