What: Osheaga Music and Arts Festival

When: August 4th – 6th

Where: Parc Jean-Drapeau, Montreal, Quebec, Canada

Taking place from August 4th – 6th over a three day weekend, the Osheaga Music and Arts Festival has been running in Montreal on the secluded river island known as Parc Jean-Drapeau. This year, the 2017 Osheaga Festival will mark the 11th year in a row the festival has been running. Founded in 2006, Osheaga brings in artists and bands from around the world to entertain almost 100,000 music fans over the course of three days. With six stages spread out across the large park, hundreds of artists and bands play over the course of the weekend. In English, the six stages are known as: the “River Stage,” the “Mountain Stage,” the “Green Stage,” the “Trees Stage,” the “Valley Stage,” and the “Zone Picnik Electronik.” The stages differ depending on the genre and popularity of the band or artist.

Easily accessed from the islands subway station, Osheaga offers festival goers a truly magical experience. With the option to stay in nearby university and college residences, the party never seems to stop at Osheaga. Festival goers often camp or find their own accommodations in the trendy city of Montreal. The festival also offers all amenities on-site including clean bathrooms, plenty of food trucks and stalls, and on-site bars and drink vendors. Art installations take over the public park as well as vendors who sell goods and handicrafts. As always vegan, vegetarian, and meat options are available for those who are searching for delicious and healthy food and snacks. The festival is also eco-friendly and each year the festival becomes more sustainable and environmentally friendly.

It’s safe to say the city of Montreal becomes even more alive at this time of year. With plenty of nightclubs, bars, and lounges, Montreal is one of the most unique cities in all of Canada. Festival goers often head out to bars and nightclubs in search of famous bands, artists, and DJ’s who may have chosen to do the same thing after taking to the stage at the Osheaga Music and Arts Festival.

If you don’t have tickets yet to the incredible Osheaga Music and Arts Festival, fear not because they are still for sale on the official Osheaga website, as well as through ticket re-sellers.
