Billboards popped up in Los Angeles and London with a photo of Sam Smith, the Spotify logo, and the date of September 8th. After three long years of only one new song from the incredibly talented singer-songwriter, it looks like we will finally hear something new from him to be released on Spotify just three days from now.
Late last week, Sam Smith teased fans on Instagram with the following note:
It was back in 2014 that Sam Smith released his award winning debut album “In the Lonely Hour”. The album had an incredible six singles released including “Lay Me Down”, “Money on my Mind”, “Stay with Me”, “I’m Not the Only One”, and “Like I Can”. In 2015, Sam Smith released “Writing’s on the Wall”, which featured as the theme song to the latest James Bond film Spectre. It has been two long years since Sam Smith fans have heard anything new, so the upcoming releases are highly anticipated.
With the incredible reception from his first album, which notably won four Grammy awards and ensured he had a completely sold out world tour, Sam Smith has huge shoes to fill. Music critics and fans alike are almost certain his new album will be incredible, as he is known for his heartbreaking love ballads and one-of-a-kind voice.
Stay tuned for more details in the coming days! We also hope to report back with world tour information…hopefully seeing Sam Smith take to the stage in 2018 sometime.
