Rising to fame in 1999 with the release of his second album “The Slim Shady LP” and the release of his first major hit song “My Name Is”, Eminem has since been recognized as one of the greatest rappers of all time. Defying many expectations with his creativity and perseverance, the rapper and songwriter has released eight solo albums throughout his career alongside two albums with his crew from D12. The latest announcement, which comes from his long time collaborator and producer Mr. Porter, states that there is a new album in the works which is said to be complete already.
Although Eminem himself has not yet spoken out about the completion or release of his brand new studio album, Shady Records producer Mr. Porter has stated that they have already finished it. During a livestream, Eminem’s longtime hype man said “Am I working on Eminem’s new album? No, we are done. How about that?”.
While no specific dates or months for the album release have been revealed, rumours have circulated that it would drop within the next three months, sometime between now and the New Year. Furthermore, there are no more details available regarding the new album including the title, cover art, or track list.
We hope that Eminem will head out on tour with this new album as well. After all, it has been five years since he last released an album which was “The Marshall Mathers LP 2”. Even though it’s been many years since his last release, Eminem has played multiple shows and festivals throughout the years, including a couple this past summer in the UK at the Leeds and Reading Festivals. He also stayed busy this past year by producing his own battle rap film titled “Bodied”. The film premiered at this years TIFF gathering held annually in Toronto. Stay tuned for any details to be released in the coming weeks about the new album and any possible tour dates or shows.
Since we have no new tracks, here is a real throwback:
***Update: The album is reported to be released on the 17th of November according to sources.
