Album Name: Little Dark Age
To Be Released: Sometime in early 2018
MGMT have just released their first single from their brand new album, which also happens to be the title track, “Little Dark Age”. This will be the American psychedelic rock band’s fourth studio album. Their last album, which was self-titled MGMT, was released in 2013 and the band have been working on their new masterpiece ever since. Little Dark Age is due out sometime in early 2018 – MGMT have not yet released an exact date.
It has been 10 years already since MGMT released their epic studio album Oracular Spectacular. Containing their arguably best hit songs “Kids”, “Time to Pretend”, and “Electric Feel”, the album took the indie and psychedelic scene by storm. This album shot the band to fame and MGMT began playing at almost every single music festival across North America. They even headlined the massive Montreal based summer music festival Osheaga this past summer. Playing new tunes occasionally since the release of their last album in 2013, fans were unsure when and if the new album would come.
Their latest track definitely has the familiar sounds that MGMT continually present to the world. The tune has a repetitive psychedelic beat and interesting lyrics, which makes sense considering the title of the song. We are not yet sure what the rest of the album will have in store, but we like the sounds of the first single so far. MGMT have even revealed their music video for Little Dark Age which you can check out here:
Currently no track listing, exact release date, or album artwork has been revealed by MGMT for Little Dark Age. We also don’t know if the band will head out on tour, however it is likely they will sometime in late 2018 or 2019. We are quite certain that they will headline or play at a few festivals next summer. If you are looking to catch them live, they are playing a show in Miami, Florida on November 11th at the House of Creatives Music Festival.
